Zen

Zen Photography

I was inspired to release “Zen” per a conversation I had with a woman who was in my gallery last week.  She collects Fine Art Photography and I was curious to know what type of Nature Photography she connected with. She connects to color and not necessarily the scene. Wow, that took me back to my previous career in the music business. Men for the most part don’t listen to lyrics, we like songs because of the beat or the instrumental part.

Lewis River runs through Oregon and dumps into Lower Lewis Falls. I wasn’t feeling the waterfall so I began my hike up the river to see if I could find something that would inspire me. Well, I definitely found something inspiring and that was the sound of smooth running water, with blues, greens and different colors going on in the river rocks. Love, Love, Love the blues and greens in this shot.  “Zen” is a limited edition print and can be viewed here.

The Gate to Eternity

The Gate to Eternity Fine Art Photography

I knew this Sea Cave was a must shot for me but wasn’t sure if a high tide would ruin my vision. The tide was even better than I had expected. In my mind the shot had to represent a sacred gate that leads to anywhere you want it to. By slowing down my shutter speed on my camera, it allowed me to create the misty entrance to The Gate To Eternity. To see more view here

Nature’s Spa

Natues Spa

Scott Papek Presents “Nature’s Spa”

Nature’s Spa was captured in Oregon.

This is the first of three significant waterfalls on Butte Creek accessible along the Butte Creek Falls trail system. The Upper falls drop over a wide, uniform and extremely undercut ledge into a large pool below. I remember standing there thinking this is what Zen is. All alone, peaceful, relaxing and the soundtrack of flowing water. Hopefully you can feel the zen with this image.

The Gatekeeper

Canon Beach Fine Art Photography

The City of Cannon Beach is located on the Pacific Northwest Coast of Oregon, 80 miles west of Portland and 25 miles south of Astoria. Cannon Beach is surrounded by the rugged natural beauty of forests, ocean beaches, rivers, and the Oregon Coast Mountain range.  The clouds looked like they were formed with a paint brush so it inspired me to treat this shot like a painting.  Waiting patiently for the perfect wave to push the water up the shoreline, I slowed down my camera speed to get the smooth effect.  I love everything about this shot from the proud boulder to the smooth ocean; but the subtle color along the shoreline blows my mind. The Right Road

SCOTT PAPEK PRESENTS  “THE RIGHT ROAD”

During my 10 day pacific northwest photo I covered the western part of Oregon and Washington. Lake Quinault is on the south from the heart of Olympic National Park. My brother was in the area 2 weeks prior and talked me into stopping here to check it out. I ended up staying at the brilliant Lake Quinault lodge and had the best salmon in my life at the “Salmon House” right down the road. When my kids get older I can see a family vacation destination for us.  “The Right Road” is a limited edition of only 300 gallery prints and looks best at 40 x 40 with the Aluma museum mount. Scott Papek is releasing two Limited Edition prints, Tranquility #1 and Tranquility #2.  Both images were captured in Oregon on the Mission Gorge at the same location 15 minutes apart.  Not only do you get amazing sunsets this time of year, but throw in some haze from the wildfires and it becomes unpredictable and quite frankly, unbelievable.  I’ve never released two prints from the same scene but maybe with the twins on the way I’m used to buying everything double now.  Then again maybe my wife, Julie, and I couldn’t agree on one.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.  Mother Nature is queen and I thank her for creating beauty every minute of every day.
