The Gatekeeper

Canon Beach Fine Art Photography

The City of Cannon Beach is located on the Pacific Northwest Coast of Oregon, 80 miles west of Portland and 25 miles south of Astoria. Cannon Beach is surrounded by the rugged natural beauty of forests, ocean beaches, rivers, and the Oregon Coast Mountain range.  The clouds looked like they were formed with a paint brush so it inspired me to treat this shot like a painting.  Waiting patiently for the perfect wave to push the water up the shoreline, I slowed down my camera speed to get the smooth effect.  I love everything about this shot from the proud boulder to the smooth ocean; but the subtle color along the shoreline blows my mind. All artists are self-taught

Techniques and skill and even a point of view are often handed down, formally or not. It’s easier to get started if you’re taught, of course.

But art, the new, the ability to connect the dots and to make an impact–sooner or later, that can only come from one who creates, not from a teacher and not from a book. “Seth Godin”
