Nature and Landscape Photography
The spring season is full of transformations. The temperature rises to a more bearable degree, opposing Mother Nature’s last few months of freezing surroundings. The leaves we saw fall and flowers we saw wilt are now budding into lush, green, picture-perfect plants. Aside from the weather’s transformations that occur in the spring season, we are transforming our lives, too. Image captured in Crested Butte, Colorado

As much as I love photographing the ocean, photographing aspen trees in the fall is right up there. There is so much color you can play with surrounding these pearly whites. The slight yellow and green color within this shot makes me happy.
The aspens are all native to cold regions with cool summers, in the north of the Northern Hemisphere, extending south at high altitudes in the mountains. They are all medium-sized deciduous trees reaching 15–30 m (49–98 ft) tall. Aspens do not thrive in the shade, and it is difficult for seedlings to grow in an already mature aspen stand.

Nature’s Spa was captured in Oregon.
This is the first of three significant waterfalls on Butte Creek accessible along the Butte Creek Falls trail system. The Upper falls drop over a wide, uniform and extremely undercut ledge into a large pool below. I remember standing there thinking this is what Zen is. All alone, peaceful, relaxing and the soundtrack of flowing water. Hopefully you can feel the zen with this image.
The other day I was giving a presentation on my work and someone asked me what was my favorite part about being a Landscape Photographer. I’ve never been asked before but it wasn’t a hard answer. It’s the search to find something different, colorful, meaningful and peaceful. More times than not, it’s about getting into my car and drive with no expectations.
