Fall Lake Colors

Fall Colors on a Lake

After an interesting conversation with a collector of mine he suggested that I should not label where my photos are taken. It’s an interesting concept and I believe he is right. My style has never been documenting certain places it’s about capturing the scene in front of me.

This is a photograph in the fall with beautiful reflections on a lake.

Maroon Bells

Maroon Bells

The Maroon Bells are located in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, (near Aspen), and are considered to be the most photographed peaks in Colorado. If you’re a nature lover and wondering what you want to see in Colorado, I highly recommend visiting these peaks.  Here is my take on a over- photographed place. To see more view here

Cleanse

Costa Rica Waterfall

This was a brutal hike with 50 lbs. of camera gear on my back in the pouring rain. It was a constant uphill and downhill battle with slippery paths and rocks. It was the rainy season in the jungle at Tenorio Volcano National Park, in northwestern Guanacaste Province. The sound of exotic birds and flowing water was so amplified it sounded like a stereo. I purposely wanted the hanging vines to frame this majestic waterfall.  For more on this image click here

Eyes Wide Open

Eye Wide open-1

Eye’s Wide Open was captured around Crested Butte, Colorado.

As much as I love photographing the ocean, photographing aspen trees in the fall is right up there. There is so much color you can play with surrounding these pearly whites.  The slight yellow and green color within this shot makes me happy.

The aspens are all native to cold regions with cool summers, in the north of the Northern Hemisphere, extending south at high altitudes in the mountains. They are all medium-sized deciduous trees reaching 15–30 m (49–98 ft) tall. Aspens do not thrive in the shade, and it is difficult for seedlings to grow in an already mature aspen stand.

Eye Wide Open is a Limited Edition of only 300 prints and can be viewed here.

Everything in it’s Right Place

Everythingisintherightplace

Have you ever had a song get stuck in your head and you find yourself thinking about it, or God forbid, singing it over and over?  Remember, “Chumbawamba”? It can be pretty annoying at times. I also have the problem of getting images stuck in my head and I can’t shut them out of my mind. Sometimes it’s a photo I haven’t taken yet or sometimes it is one I have. Some days I’ll look at it several times and other times weeks go by and I don’t think about it.

Images to me are songs. Today I was getting stuff ready in the gallery before we opened and Radiohead’s, “Everything in It’s Right Place”, came on.  I immediately connected to it and turned the volume up. It was such a great moment to just sit there and enjoy a song I’ve heard a 100 times but it just sounded different today. I couldn’t get this image out of my mind during that moment.

My question to you is when you see this image what song comes to mind?

Everything in it’s Right Place was taken in San Diego around La Jolla Cove. I’m only printing five of  “Everything in Its Right Place”.  To view go here.
