Tetons Barn

The goal was to capture this famous barn in the Tetons with a different perspective. The storm clouds along with the movement in the grass add the drama for me. The reason for this posting today was influenced by a blog post from a brilliant man, Seth Godin. Seth has helped me in so many ways even though he has no idea who I am. Here is his latest blog post.

Either, not both

Stand out or fit in. Not all the time, and never at the same time, but it’s always a choice.
Those that choose to fit in should expect to avoid criticism (and be ignored). Those that stand out should expect neither.

San Diego Trip

“America’s Finest Evening” is one of my babies from my portfolio. This area in La Jolla is where I taught myself how to photograph. It’s being donated to a fantastic charity that offers support to grieving children and their caregivers. We like to work with charities, so keep us in mind if you’re ever looking for donations.

Dear Kauai it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. I miss your colors, your vibe, beaches, sand, trails, lifestyle and primo. You were good to Julie and I, take care and hopefully we see you soon. This Image was taken about 35 minutes before sunrise. If you look closely to the middle left, the reflection on the water is a jogger.

Why all the storm images? Good question, with my images in Hot Shops the month of May it’s given me a chance to spend quality time with people like you who follow my work. What’s really awesome about people like you who follow my work is how smart and passionate you are about art. Clouds make or break a Image for me. The sky is a Landscape Photographers lightsource so it’s pretty important to pay attention above. Nerbraska skies offers some of the most incredible clouds and color. This Image was taken in 2011 off 181stish and 370 in Nebraska.  

Here is my formula when hunting for a shot.

1. Sky

2. Light

3. Subject

4. Composition

5. Is it safe for me or nature

Whitsunday

This Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm we will be set up selling smaller prints from 8 x12’s to 12 x 18’s at the Hot Shops art center

I spent a year in planning the perfect photography trip to Australia and it all went out the door when it rained for 10 of the 11 days. Yes it was irritating! Another passion of mine is Craft Beer but at $22.00 a 6 pack that got old pretty quick also. We did get off Whitsundays Island one day and I was fortunate to find a dry spot to capture this raging storm.
