Migration Madness

We might not have the beach here in the Midwest, but we have four seasons with incredible wildlife happenings year-round. My intention was to photograph bald eagles since they’re all over the place along I-29 from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Mound City, Missouri. My destination was Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Mound City, Missouri and to my surprise it was also the destination for hundreds of thousands of snow geese. I combined photography with some video to give you a feel of what it’s like. I never saw anything like this when living in San Diego. If you know people who appreciate the Midwest and it’s wildlife please share the video with them.

Scott Papek Limited Edition Print Release “ZENITH”

Scott Papek Limited Edition Print Zenith, White Sands, New Mexico

Scott Papek Photography is proud to announce another limited edition print to the family.  Let’s welcome, “ZENITH”. Zenith was captured in the White Sands Park in New Mexico at 5:43 AM.  On this morning I had set up an early arrival with the Game and Parks.  You pay them $50.00 an hour and they open the gates for you at any time.  The hike to my scouted location was 1.1 miles with the help of my Garmin hand-held GPS.  It’s easy to get disoriented when you are surrounded with white rolling hills and on top of that throw in complete darkness!
I adore Zenith and, hopefully, you do too.

Sacred White Sands

In South Central New Mexico, just west of Alamogordo, are the world’s largest dune fields of Gypsum sand. The brilliant white sand dunes cover an area of nearly 230 square miles, with many of the dunes rising to over 60 feet.
Scott Papek proudly presents “Sacred White Sands”; a Limited Edition of only 300 prints will be sold.

Sacred White Sands New Mexico Papek Photography

The white sands have been on my photography list for more than 2 years. Coming from the Midwest, when we see white we think cold.
It was nice to be surrounded by white in a t-shirt for once.
A highlight for me was the last day when we entered the park 90 minutes before sunrise.
