Lewis River Falls, located in Washington, contains an upper and lower waterfall spread over a few miles. This photograph was captured midmorning in the lower falls. While standing in a few feet of icy cold water, Scott held his tripod as steady as possible while adjusting his shutter speed to slow the water as it rushed through the mossy green rocks. As often happens during a shoot, Scott stayed longer than intended, enjoying the sounds and beauty of nature. Photo © copyright by Scott Papek.
